Simon’s Influence
- Simon, a sorcerer, had amazed the people of Samaria with his magic, claiming to be someone great.
- After hearing Philip’s message, Simon believed and was baptized.
The Apostles in Samaria
- Peter and John came to Samaria to lay hands on the new believers so they could receive the Holy Spirit.
- Simon offered money to gain the ability to give the Spirit, showing that his heart was not right with God.
Repentance
- Peter rebuked Simon for thinking he could buy God’s gift.
- Simon asked Peter to pray for him, showing his recognition of his sin.
