Lord’s Supper Devotion: Remembering Our Unity in Christ
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:16-17 (ESV)
“The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.”
Context and Commentary:
Paul emphasizes that when believers partake of the Lord’s Supper, they are sharing in the body and blood of Christ, signifying their unity as the body of Christ. This unity transcends individual differences, uniting all believers as one in Christ.
Devotion:
When we share in the Lord’s Supper, we are reminded that we are one body in Christ. This bread and cup symbolize our shared faith and the unity we have as believers. Despite our differences, we are united in Christ. Let’s use this time to pray for one another and to strengthen our commitment to love and support our fellow believers.
