Week 18: Saul’s Conversion

Verses Covered: Acts 9:1-19

Saul’s Mission to Persecute

  • Saul was a zealous Pharisee who actively persecuted Christians.
  • On his way to Damascus to arrest believers, he had a dramatic encounter with Jesus.

Saul’s Encounter with Jesus

  • A bright light flashed, and Jesus spoke to Saul, asking, “Why do you persecute me?”
  • Saul was blinded and led into Damascus, where he fasted and prayed for three days.

Ananias’ Obedience

  • God sent a disciple named Ananias to heal Saul and help him receive the Holy Spirit.
  • Saul’s sight was restored, and he was baptized immediately.

Life Applications:

  • No one is beyond God’s reach—He can change even the hardest hearts.
  • Be obedient to God’s call, even if it seems scary, like Ananias’ mission to Saul.
  • When God changes your life, follow Him wholeheartedly, just like Saul did.

Discussion Questions:

  1. Why do you think Jesus chose to appear to Saul in such a dramatic way?
  2. How do we know that Saul’s life was truly changed after meeting Jesus?
  3. What can we learn from Ananias’ willingness to help Saul, even though he was afraid?
