Paul Preaches in Thessalonica
- Paul preached in the synagogue for three Sabbaths, explaining that Jesus was the Messiah. Some Jews and many Gentiles believed, but others became jealous and caused a riot.
- Paul and Silas had to leave the city, but the church in Thessalonica continued to grow in faith.
The Noble Character of the Bereans
- In Berea, Paul found a more receptive audience. The Bereans were praised for their eagerness to receive the message and for diligently examining the Scriptures to see if what Paul said was true.
- Many Bereans believed, but opposition from Thessalonica followed Paul and forced him to leave.
