Week 46: Paul Before Governor Felix
Verses Covered: Acts 24:1–27
Paul’s Trial Before Felix
- The Jewish leaders presented their case against Paul to Governor Felix, accusing him of stirring up trouble and desecrating the temple. Paul defended himself, explaining that he was on trial because of his belief in the resurrection of the dead.
Felix’s Delay
- Felix was intrigued by Paul’s message but chose to delay his decision. He kept Paul in custody, allowing him some freedom and frequent visits from friends.
- Felix hoped Paul would offer him a bribe for his release but ultimately kept Paul imprisoned for two years, leaving the decision to his successor.
