Week 48: Paul Before King Agrippa
Verses Covered: Acts 25:13–26:32
Paul’s Defense Before Agrippa
- Festus presented Paul’s case to King Agrippa, who expressed interest in hearing from Paul himself. During the trial, Paul gave a powerful testimony, sharing the story of his conversion and his mission to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles.
Agrippa’s Response
- Agrippa acknowledged that Paul had done nothing deserving death or imprisonment, but Paul’s appeal to Caesar meant that his case would proceed to Rome.
- Agrippa famously remarked, “In a short time, you would persuade me to be a Christian.”
Life Applications:
- Always be ready to share your testimony, even in front of powerful or influential people.
- Some may come close to believing in Jesus, as Agrippa did, but choose not to follow through. Keep sharing the truth regardless of the response.
- Trust that God can use your story to touch the hearts of people in unexpected places.
Discussion Questions:
- How did Paul use his defense before Agrippa as an opportunity to share his testimony?
- What does Agrippa’s response teach us about the reactions people may have to the Gospel?
- How can we be faithful in sharing our testimony, even when the outcome is uncertain?
