Lord’s Supper Devotion: The Covenant of Grace
Scripture: Luke 22:20 (ESV)
“And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, ‘This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.’”
Context and Commentary:
During the Last Supper, Jesus introduces the new covenant, which is established through His blood. This covenant is based on grace, offering forgiveness and eternal life to all who believe in Him. It contrasts with the old covenant, which was based on the law and required repeated sacrifices.
Devotion:
The Lord’s Supper represents the new covenant established by Jesus’ blood. This covenant is one of grace, where God offers us forgiveness and eternal life through faith in Christ. As we drink the cup, let’s remember that we are part of this new covenant, not because of anything we have done, but because of God’s incredible grace. Let’s rejoice in this gift and live in a way that reflects our gratitude.
